Job Description Summary

Altus Group have recently opened an exciting opportunity for 2 Surveyor Assistants to join our successful surveying team in Dartford. This office provides a great experience and exposure in one of the most experienced rating teams at Altus Group. The Dartford office covers a large geographical patch around Kent and South East London where you will gain vast experience inspecting a variation of commercial property. This includes offices, retail units, large distribution warehouses, small industrial units, car showrooms, hotels, golf courses and many more. Reporting into the Vice President, the primary role is to provide support to qualified Surveyors in the day to day operations of the business, building your knowledge and experience with the view of carrying out the role independently upon completion of the training period. As an entry level role previous related experience isn’t required and full training support will be provided by experienced and qualified surveyors who will aid your development and learning during your training.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and measuring client properties
  • Drafting floor plans
  • Managing client cases
  • Assisting surveyors in collation of evidence
  • Prepare the assessment report; report, analyze, investigate and gather evidence for business rates assessment appeals
  • Formulating appeals
  • Keeping company records and databases updated
  • Communicate with clients, both written and verbally
  • Deliver excellent service to clients ensuring a strong and positive working relationship, effectively dealing with any issues or queries
  • Achieve your team KPIs, whilst contributing to the overall success of the wider team and Altus

 

Key Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 3 A levels (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C (or equivalent)
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Full driving license, with access to own car – essential
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including; PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and internet applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
