Support Worker
Full job description
AKTON Resourcing Ltd
Salary: £13.8 per hour
A2Dominion Group
Akton recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join the A2 Dominion Group
Introduction
These procedures set out the actions that must be taken, when and by whom, where there are any concerns relating to the protection of children from harm or abuse. They have been agreed and endorsed by the Executive Management Team and apply to all staff. Failure to comply with them is a disciplinary offence.
Any child is treated as being subject to the Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedure when in our premises, or where their immediate family receives services from A2Dominion (A2D).
All children are entitled to protection from harm or abuse. You may become aware of the possibility of abuse through any number of means. If you see, hear or are told anything that makes you concerned that a child may be at risk of abuse or is being, or has been, abused you must share that concern with the designated person and the Safeguarding Team as set out in this procedure.
If you have concerns about the behaviour (past or present) of another staff member that may put children at risk you must report this as set out in this procedure.
Under the disciplinary procedures, management will assess any concerns expressed about the behaviour of a member of staff towards children.
NOTE: It is not your responsibility to decide whether a child is being, or has been, abused or whether or not someone poses a ‘real’ risk to a child’s welfare. You are not expected to be an expert on child abuse. It is however, your responsibility under these procedures to take action to prevent the suffering of a child or children.
If a child comes into the service on a Child Protection Plan or Child In Need Plan, staff must inform the Safeguarding Team (this excludes outreach services, when the Safeguarding Team only needs to be informed if the A2D service makes a referral).
When someone is 18 or over but is still receiving children’s services support and a safeguarding issue is raised, the matter should be dealt with through Children’s Services, via the specialist Leaving Care Team. For example, this could occur when a young person with substantial and complex needs continues to be supported in a residential educational setting until the age of 25.
