Ivy Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Support Worker for a service based in Birchington, Margate which supports three brothers within a supported living home. They have learning disabilities, autism and complex challenging behaviour.

* Level of challenging behaviours can be high and particularly 1 brother can display behaviours such as, stamping feet with force, grabbing, biting, pulling hair, pinching. These behaviours are not an everyday occurrence and we have a pretty good understanding of when the brother may display these behaviours, as well as plans in place however we do want to make applicants aware this service can be more challenging.

* The brothers will also ‘test’ people on their first meeting on how people respond and whether they are confident enough to support him.

* Experience is beneficial but not essential – being confident dealing with the above behaviours is essential

* Shift times; earlies, lates, some waking nights, potentially 1 – 2 sleep ins per week. Shifts are typically 7 am – 3 pm and 3 pm to 9.30 pm. Sleep ins start at 10 pm and a waking night shift is 9.30 pm to 7 am.
