The Client & Role | Who Are They?

1492 Search has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing and Sustainability professional. We are helping a collaborative company recruit a Purchasing and Sustainability professional to manage the purchasing and procurement activities of the business.

The role of Supply Chain and Sustainability is essential to support innovative solutions while being mindful of operational impacts and the need to preserve our planet.

With customers increasingly demanding the goods and services they purchase and the companies they do business with to be taking accountable steps to reduce negative impacts on the environment, we are looking for the successful applicant for this position to embrace sustainability.

You will be motivated and enthusiastic about promoting sustainability. You must also be consistent, articulate and resilient in your approach, with the ability to apply sustainability principles in a commercially focused manner.

This will include:

* Being the ambassador for the company at any group meetings and sustainability events.

* Pro-actively identify and present and carbon savings to the MD.

* Engage the business in the focus to become CO2 neutral and champion sustainability.

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you can expect to do:

* Work closely with all departments to determine their product/service needs.

* Perform all procurement activities.

* Identify areas for cost improvement.

* Work closely with the commercial manager to ensure the supplier contract terms and conditions meet the needs of the business.

* Track the price of materials and services in the market.

The Candidate | What Are We Looking For?

To succeed, you should have previous management (not teams) of purchasing and supply, together with the experience of supplier audit, tender, and selection process and of managing and improving ERP/ MRP systems.

It would also be advantageous if you:

* Had experience of procurement from overseas and the various import rules and tariffs.

* Were CIPs qualified.

* Had experience in managing and improving ERP/ MRP systems.
