I am now working on behalf of a Large, UK Based Manufacturing Company who are looking to recruit a new Supplier Quality Engineer to be based at the manufacturing facility in Worksop. This Monday to Friday Days based position will be responsible for monitoring, analysing, and maintaining high standards of supplier quality. Located in Worksop my client is a well-known, highly respected organisation, who pride themselves on customer satisfaction. The products they supply are high end, life depending equipment, so there is a high focus on all areas of quality. The Supplier Quality Engineer is a very important role within the company and will work closely with other departments including Production, Warehousing, Quality and Purchasing. Description

As the new Supplier Quality Engineer, you will report directly into the Supply Chain Manager, and sit within the Quality Team and Purchasing Team. Your main responsibility will include ensuring the supply chain is proficient in providing high quality materials required to support manufacturing and production, installations, and service, whilst consistently achieving both department and company objectives. You will monitor, analyse and maintain high standards of supplier quality across the organisation whilst constable looking for improvements.

Key Duties

  • Managing non-conformities and associated corrective and preventative actions using the MRB/NCR process.
  • Dealing with quality issues for immediate resolution to ensure production can continue and all associated work with other departments
  • Target the root cause of any quality issue and resolve with the supplier and review for permanent fix.
  • Responsible for leading Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) visiting suppliers where required.
  • Audit supplier process’s and documentation as required.
  • Ensure parts standards for quality and packaging are met and maintained.
  • Attending supplier meetings and calls.
  • Capturing, analysing and when required presenting supplier performance data. Maintaining KPI’s as required.
  • Attending Monthly Supplier Improvement meeting with relevant company stakeholders
  • Analysis of supplier statistics and associated actions and improvements required.
  • Completing Supplier audits and taking associated actions

Profile

To apply for the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will have proven experience in a similar Supplier Engineering role with multiple vendors and supplier base.

Other Knowledge, experience and skills required include;

  • Computer literate with ERP systems and Microsoft packages, in particular Excel.
  • Experience with managing NCRs – investigation and resolution
  • Working knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis and resolution
  • Able to read engineering drawings & BOM’s
  • Engineering background ideally with knowledge of Plastic Moulding Production & general assembly operations
