Supplier Quality Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £50,400 per year

We are looking for an exceptional Supplier Quality Engineer to work with us during transition to evaluate and develop our key suppliers. We are looking for an autonomous, experienced and pragmatic person capable of working with multiple commodities, suppliers of all sizes and located throughout the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate will have substantial and demonstrable history of leading complex 8D and deep Auditing activity within large supply chains.

Key activitIes will include;

* Supplier Quality Management Systems Auditing both remotely where necessary and in person & reporting this work

* Technical Compliance Auditing; confirming Processes & Outputs conform to Drawings, Work Instructions and Test Plans & Reporting this work

* Development of mutually agreed Supplier Development Plans and associated actions from Audits; managing these to successful closure

* Monitoring of Rejected Material retuned to Suppliers to trend, tackle and lessen these using appropriate tools

* Training Suppliers in the use of 8D and KT techniques to the high standards and style of MKS Instruments requirements

* Establish Incoming Material Inspection Plans to be dynamic and equally efficient & effective

What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity and tenacity will be a strong mix of technical and interpersonal skills to deploy in a variety of situations, these must include;

* Extensive UK and Overseas QMS Auditing experience and formal ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Training

* The ability to engage with Design & Development, Engineering and Supplier Teams seamlessly

* Competence in mechanical, electrical, electronic, vacuum and clean manufacturing Best Practice

* Strong data analysis and interpretation skills using a variety of sources

* The intuition to ask pertinent questions to gain a deep understanding of any given problem scenario

* Best in Class 8D and KT knowledge and experience sufficient to lead diverse groups to solve typically very complex issues often with multiple streams of Root Cause and requiring careful, frequent action assignment and monitoring

A willingness to be adaptive and to be able to focus on several tasks at once, answerable to multiple Stake Holders.

This is a fixed term 9 month contract.
