Salary: £44,400 per year
Supervisor required for engineering manufacturer near Leeds Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Monday to Friday Day shift (+ occasional shift cover with pay). 7.30 a.m. start, early finish Fridays.
£35K – £37K + Bonus and excellent benefits
Our client makes metal components for the power generation and aerospace industries. They are part of an international group and offer great career potential.
The Supervisor will cover 10-20 operators and team leaders.
The Supervisor will be responsible for Health and Safety (including 6S implementation); production planning and output; quality and manufacturing cost control within the department. The Supervisor will also be responsible for driving the changes needed to hit the departmental planned efficiency targets and variable cost, while keeping the necessary cell throughput to support sales.
Experience / skills
Excellent people management skills with the ability to get the best out of a team
Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing in an engineering / manufacturing environment
Good understanding of key manufacturing processes and metrics (ToC, 6S, variable cost control etc.)
Proven experience of supervising within a medium to fast paced manufacturing environment with responsibility for operational and quality KPI’s
Managing a multi-shift and multi-skilled department
H&S responsibility/qualification
Using SAP or equivalent business management software
Qualifications
A formal qualification (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline (degree level qualification would be advantageous but is not essential)
A recognized qualification in Health and Safety / Environment would be advantageous (i.e. IOSH / NEBOSH)
Training or qualification in Lean manufacturing and process improvement (6 sigma, zero defects, 6S, kaizen, 7 wastes, etc)
