Strategic Ecologist – Sounds interesting already doesn’t it!

This role will work across the broader ecology functions within a medium sized environmental consultancy. The successful candidate will be a positive contributor to policy reviews, supporting general ecology consultation exercises, and ensuring the proper application of Biodiversity policy, and it’s UK legislation to a growing number of projects.

This role is to be focussed on strategic environmental planning, however, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage within the broader work streams of the Ecology team, enabling a diverse role. This consultancy carries out a truly interesting, broad range of projects covering several industries, and this role will enable fantastic career development for the right person.

This is a new breed of Ecologist role and may suit someone who wishes to move away from survey work. You will have an excellent knowledge nature conservation an habitat creation in the YOU’RE Your insight will be used to enable habitat networks to reconnect and recover. You’ll also understand landscape ecology, topography, hydrology and the influence of soils.

You will be using strategic datasets, be competent with the use of GIS, and you’ll be up to speed on future farming, and have a knowledge of ecosystem service funding streams.

This will also be a client facing role, and so experience within a client facing consultancy role is required, and previous broad survey experience is going to be useful in this new role.
