Stores Person

We currently have an opportunity available for a Stores Person to join our clients team in the Southend area.

Working as part of the Stores Support Team, you will be required to facilitate goods in, goods out, stock checking and use a hand held system for issuing items from the stock inventory system. You will also be responsible for keeping the store area clean and tidy.

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role with strong communication skills and a flexible approach with the ability to work on your own initiative. A high level of numeracy, accuracy, attention to detail is essential is also required.

Main Duties for this Stores position are:

• Accurately pick stock items.
• Keep control of all stock parts
• Responsible for the goods in / out / stores areas to comply with Health and Safety, Insurance requirements
• Maintain quality, batch control and traceability of all parts and to ensure the department operates to the quality manual.
• Issue stock parts to the workshop as required and to update the system accordingly
• Assist with regular stock checks when required.
• Adequately package all orders for safe delivery to the customer.
• To use the company computer system to maintain accurate records, carry out stock transfers etc.

For this job you will need to have:

– Experience of material handling and packing
– Basic literacy skills
– Enthusiasm
– Must be able to work in, and participate in a team environment with minimum supervision
– A work history that shows stability

The hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Fridays 8am to 1.pm a total of 39 per week and overtime is paid at time and a half after working 39 hours and double time for Sundays.

This role will involve some heavy lifting and a lot of walking around the very large stores department.
