Storage Technical Analyst

A Server Storage Technical Analyst is required to join technology leader in Malmesbury on an initial 5 month contract.

You will help to support the technical architect team in designing and implementing Server and Storage solutions for a brand new Datacentre. You will help to plan a signicant migration between 2 sities.

You will provide technical expertise on SAN infrastructure, Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 systems, Exchange 2010/2016 email, VMware 5.5 & 6.0 and HP Servers.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the technical design authority
Detailed design work including equipment build & installation.
Planning of associated network migrations.
Participation in supporting BAU IT operations impacted by the Datacenter build work and migrations
As part of the Technical Architect team work autonomously under the direction of the Datacentre Project lead Architect to
Contribute to the overall design of the Datacentre
Provide detailed plans for all installation and migration work
Provide detailed documentation for all work planned and completed
Liaise with the other IT teams and effectively communicate all work
Manage implementations by 3rd parties, from initial supplier selection, through commercial agreement to final project completionSkills Knowledge & Experience:

Mailbox role Maintenance (Essential)

Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 (Desirable)

Software Deployment

Installation and configuration
Maintenance and Support
Distributed vSwitch configuration
Stretched Clusters
VM Migration Tools
Strong hardware experience, including:
Configuration of HP Servers (Essential)
SAN/NAS Experience (HP MSA/EVA/3Par) (Essential)
Exposure to Enterprise Monitoring Tools (Desirable)
HP Systems Insight Manager
Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager
Splunk
Good experience of Datacentre Configuration and Monitoring (Desirable)
HVAC Experience
Power distribution and monitoring
Basic understanding of the following Networking technologies:
TCP/IP:
LAN Addressing (Desirable)
Public IP routing (Desirable)
Cisco Catalyst Networking (IOS)
Cisco Nexus Networking (ACI and NX OS)
