Salary: £13.8 – £19.2 per hour
Steelwork Draughtsperson
Excellent opportunity for a Draughtsperson to join a well-established and successful steelwork engineering business based in Bedford.
The successful Draughtsperson will join the existing drawing office team and work on a variety of steelwork projects that includes both secondary/architectural steelwork and structural steelwork.
Draughtsman role:
* Work to engineering/GA drawings to create 3D CAD models for a range of steelwork projects.
* Create detailed assembly/fabrication drawings, bills of material, erection drawings etc. project.
* To liaise with relevant external party’s, Architects, Engineers etc, as well as internal departments, i.e. design, estimating etc.
* Communicate with client, engineers etc. as required to resolved technical queries/RFIs.
* Attend any required project / progress meetings.
Draughtsman requirements:
* Previous experience working as a steelwork Draughtsperson on structural and/or secondary steelwork.
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience set with a drawing office within a steelwork fabrication company or similar engineering environment.
* Competent Tekla software users are very welcome to apply as the company uses this software in their Drawing Office.
* However, excellent candidates with a proven detailing background in Steelwork that use other 3D detailing software, i.e. Advance Steel, StruCad and even AutoCad 2D will be considered.
* Ability to work with the D.O. team on large projects as well as working on your own detailing smaller projects / buildings.
* Be aware of drawing issues for approval / workshop and project deadlines.
