Statutory Reporting Accountant
Job Description
A London market (Re)insurance company is recruiting for a Statutory Reporting Accountant.
Working alongside the Head of Reporting the successful applicant will focus on the organisation’s various UK entities as well as a new European branch. The role will cover a wide range of reporting including the production of various sets of audited financial statements (under UK GAAP) as well as elements of Solvency II and input into the production of local Executive reporting.
More specific duties will include the oversight and production of various sets of statutory accounts, production of quarterly regulatory reports, oversight and production of all Solvency & Financial Condition Reports, the review of existing production processes for statutory reporting and look to transition to global reporting tool to ensure consistency, production of quarterly Executive Reporting including detailed financial analysis & commentary, preparation of other regulatory requests including statistical returns (ABI, FCA, IUA, NAIC, ONS etc) to various bodies, involvement in IT & Finance Transformation projects to include development of the Regulatory Reporting tool and evolving Data Warehouse reporting to support the Regulatory Reporting plus other project work as directed.
Suitable applicants will be qualified accountants with previous statutory reporting / solvency II experience gained within an insurance business, be forward thinking with initiative to develop and improve current processes, have experience of using ledger systems and possess strong excel skills.
