Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year
Cambridge – Senior Software Engineer – Core Network – Competitive
My client is a market leader in low power, wide area network technology working at the forefront of commercial smart city and internet of things applications. They currently require a new Senior Software Engineer to join their talented Cambridge-based team.
Main Duties:
• Development of Aptos low power wide area technology
• Software development for Linux-based Core Network
• Build high quality products in line with industry best practice
• Work within the team in a fast paced environment
Skills and Experience:
• 2:1 degree in a numerate/computer science related subject (or equivalent experience)
• Application software development using C/C++
• Experience with the Linux/UNIX operating system as a developer
Then at least one of:
• Network API design and implementation using techniques such as REST
• Database design and implementation
• Experience of scaleable multi-process software architectures
• Experience of the “full lifecycle” of software development
• Software testing: unit, functional, regression, acceptance
Experience implementing wireless protocols, working with 0MQ, and debugging and bottle-necking code is also desirable but not essential.
