Software Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

Working within a small engineering team, creating customer solutions, developing and maintaining software for emissions gas measurement technology.

High-technology spectroscopic Gas Emission measurement products, typically used for legislative compliance for In-Process Measurement in petro-chemical, land based and marine/offshore industry applications.

MAIN DUTIES

1.Maintenance and enhancement of internal (factory systems) and external (Customer) software.
2.Support/improvement of current product range including engineering changes and sustaining (support) of the product range.

JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS

Essential
1. At least 2 years recent experience,
2. Good knowledge of C#/C/C++/.net/WPF/MVVM
3. Familiarity with Real Time Systems
4. Knowledge of design patterns
5. Team player with strong communication skills
6. Ability to work and modify existing source code
7. Basic knowledge of Window API
8. Database design and SQL
9. Demonstrable evidence of working to ISO9001 systems.

Desirable
1. Scientific Background.
2. Knowledge of MODBUS protocol
3. Working with Visual Studio 2008, 2010, 2013
4. Ability to modify complex C/C++ applications
5. Familiar with PLCs and HMIs. RS485/Modbus/CAN.
6. Customer facing experience.

Qualification:

Technical Degree – ideally Software Engineering or related discipline and PHD or Masters. C# and C++ are essential.
