Software Controls Engineer – Supply Chain/Distribution

To assist their growth plans they are looking to recruit a Software Controls Engineer to add to their team. The successful candidate will have fantastic attention to detail, strong communication skills & the ability to manage high expectations to deliver the business agenda.
Supported by industry leaders based both in the UK & internationally we are looking for a candidate who has a strong track record of success, but more importantly somebody who has an outstanding career ahead.
Key Responsibilities:
To take responsibility for software setup, configuration and menu design including GUI design and development and Operating systems implementation and configuration.
To train new and junior team members on in-house software & Software Controls Engineering (SCE) processes
To specify network requirements to clients as needed
To develop project schedules and delivering quality solutions on-time and within budget.
To perform testing, debugging, implementation and support during “go-live” at Clients’ sites.
To make modifications and troubleshooting industrial motor controls, I/O and pneumatic subsystems and variable speed drives.
To develop, maintain and provide documentation to the Company’s Technical Writer.
To provide training & staff to staff at Clients’ sites.
To respond to client issues with immediacy & purpose
To complete support tickets that include detailed problem analysis and resolutions.
To provide control enhancements/requirements to the Software team in an effort to increase productivity and accuracy.
Conducting the Controls Design Review (CDR) process.
To make recommendations and suggestions to improve and streamline the implementation process.
The Person:
Degree educated, or equivalent, in software engineering or a related field
Experience of working with supply chain/transport/warehouse environments
Proven experience in industrial controls
Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC systems
Strong oral and written communication skills with internal and external resources
Strong detail orientation
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
Ability to travel extensively domestically and occasionally internationally
