Service Manager – Rainham, Kent (Medway)

£37,898.4 per annum

We’re looking for a Service Manager to oversee a 1 person service which supports a young male adult who has learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge and also PICA. This is a unique service where the manager will oversee this one service and a small staff team however the service is located near to other services and so will become part of the wider management team within the area.

The individual we supports enjoys lots of activities at home and in the community and he works closely with his team to engage in as much of his daily life as possible. It’s important we find someone who has a fun, positive, can do attitude!

Key requirements:

• Experience managing a small to medium staff team within social care, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and high complex needs.
• Has strong knowledge and previous experience coaching & developing a team with emphasis on Practise Leadership
• Has knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systems e.g. ‘sign-a-long’ skills.
• Knowledge of the legal framework that apply in this service (e.g. DoLS, capacity and best interest requirements)
• Applicant must be a driver due to the individual have use of a mobility vehicle to allow him to access his community activities

Desirable:

Qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) level 3 or BILD course desirable, or must be willing to complete a diploma within 18 months of employment.
