Senior Technical Support Engineer/Team Lead

My fantastic client in Wolverhampton is currently looking for an experience Senior Support Engineer or Team Lead to join the Technical Support team. The successful candidate will be working on 3rd Line Level Support issues raised by the Incident Management team, including Team Lead duties of managing a rota, holiday requests and resourcing of priority issues for the Technical Support team.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the members of the Support Team in Wolverhampton adhere to:

Incident logging, investigation and escalation
Workaround and root cause analysis and fix
Identify trends and common issues, feeding back in Engineering
Creating Solution articles
Adherence to agreed KPI’s
Development of patches and service enhancements to productsExperience:

Extensive commercial experience in a technical support role
Strong MS SQL experience
Team/Technical lead experience of 4 or more engineers
Ability to prioritise issues and assign necessary resource as required
Internal and customer based escalation managementTechnical Skills:

Excellent knowledge of T-SQL, including stored procedures, functions and synonyms
Experience of working with MS SQL Server 2008 and above – installation, sizing and performance
MS Windows and Networking experience, Windows Server 2008, AD, Windows Security, IIS, COM+, MTS, DCOM, MMQ
PowerShell scripting experienceDesirable skills:

Experience in the Financial market place would be beneficial
Experience of working within an ITIL incident, Problem and Change Management environment
A degree or equivalent level of qualificationThis is a permanent role offering £35-38k per annum depending on experience.
