Salary: £36,000 – £42,000Depending upon Experience

About our client:

Founded in a garden shed in 2004, our client’s software products now lead the European market of digital photo kiosks and online photo ordering systems. A rapidly growing company based in Havant, Hampshire, they have developed kiosks used by labs and chains mainly across the UK and Ireland to order prints and a wide array of photo gifts. In 2012 they transferred these skills into the greetings card industry, and their CardCreator kiosks can produce a personalised card (or gift) in store in around 2 minutes… like Moonpig or Funky Pigeon but the customer takes the finished card / gift away with them.

They have also undertaken a smart screen project for Morrisons and the contract for ASDA’s online photo ordering system. Currently trials are beginning in the Co-Op and Jessops, with Tesco following soon. Other projects include cakes personalised with photos too.

Main Responsibilities:

• Continuing development of the ordering platforms (Rails), including associated technologies (Ruby)

• Feeding customer requirements into the development process & feeding back projected timescales

• Providing backup consultation for tricky support issues

Skills & Experience:

• At least two years commercial Rails experience

• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS & SQL

• Excellent knowledge of JavaScript

• Experience with git

• Experience with Linux

• Experience in unit testing Rails applications

• Excellent communicator

• GTK+ 2 & Clutter

• SVG & Cairo

• UX

Salary and Conditions:

• £30,000 – £35,000 depending upon experience

• 28 days paid holiday (including Bank Holidays) rising by a day each year to 31 days after 3 years service

• A generous bonus scheme to reward an employee’s contribution to the success of their company, is paid at Christmas

• Based at their Head Office in Havant (PO9) but with potential for flexi-time and some home working
