The Company: Senior Quantity Surveyor:
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to join the award winning building division of a multi-disciplinary construction company. My client complete design and build, new build and large refurbishment projects within education, residential, healthcare, commercial and industrial sectors.
The company have a strong presence across the Midlands where they have a reputation for being successful on projects ranging from £5m – £40m.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor vacancy is within the company’s specialist residential division which covers extra care facilities and retirement living schemes. The projects can range from £2m – £40m and are spread across the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
Reason for the Vacancy:
Due to a number of schemes starting on site in April the company need to recruit and views the appointment of an additional Senior Quantity Surveyor as an integral part of the development of this business unit as they continue to secure work into the next decade with past users and new clients. The Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will deal with tenders from contractors, legal constraints and the project cost, also duties will include:
Managing costs on a wide variety of new building projects and structures and undertaking costs analysis
Advising on procurement strategy
Involvement in design meetings and advising on build-ability issues
Assisting in establishing a clients requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
Performing risk and value management and cost control
Providing advice on contractual claimsThe Person: Senior Quantity Surveyor:
The ideal person will have a proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or developer working on housing schemes. You will ideally have experience working on projects over £10m and possess a recognised construction qualification such as degree or HND.
