Salary: £480 – £510 per day
A Senior Project Manager is required for 6 months initially (likely to be extended) based in Liverpool.
You will be working for the Public Sector as a Project Manager and you need experience within an ICM ( Information and Content Management) related industry (public and/or private sector). The main duties include:
* Takes responsibility for the definition; documentation and safe execution of a single major project or a number of smaller initiative; actively participating in all phases of the project.
* Identifies; assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.
* Effectively estimates costs; timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference.
* Ensures that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and tracks all activities against the plan; providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders; as appropriate.
* Monitors and forecasts costs; timescales and resources used; and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances.
* Ensures that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria.
* Manages the change control procedure; ensures that change is captured; impact assessed and approved and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost; timescale and resource budgets; and are signed off.
* Gains agreement for revisions to the project(s) from project sponsors.
* Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience.
* Takes appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
* Actively represents the project team; ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business. Ensures that own projects are formally closed and; where appropriate; subsequently reviewed; and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes.
For this role you need previous Project Management experience and have been involved in contributing and constructing a world class category schedule and technical proficiency within one or more ICM category areas; sufficient to act as a trusted advisor to customers in dealings with suppliers and sufficient to engage in meaningful, challenging conversations with customers. Demonstrable experience of undertaking procurement tendering exercises, managing contractual arrangements and responsibilities for managing supplier performance * Experience of researching markets, merging trends and customer requirements; presenting conclusions and recommendations into a procurement strategy * Good analytical, organisational and problem solving skills. Uses information to ensure the evidence base for this public sector strategy and work is open to critical challenge and inspires the confidence of stakeholders * Experience of constructively challenging existing ways of doing things, looking for opportunities to improve service delivery and promote LEAN thinking and approaches to ensure a culture of continuous improvement. * High awareness of operational risk management in market sector and able to contribute to the translation of these in to commercial risk strategies * Proven communication experience requiring the ability to provide/obtain information, seeking clarified detail, explain and implement policy and procedures * Experience of budgetary and resource management and able to manage a discrete area of work or operational/professional group. * The ability to work independently, seeking guidance only where possible solutions would go beyond current policy or impact significantly on other areas. * Understands Category Management tools and techniques and experience of supporting the delivery of procurement/commercial arrangements within the public sector * Experience of directly line managing staff/teams and responsible for staff performance management is desirable for this post, but not essential
This postion will pay £480 – £510 per day.
