Salary: £60,000 – £66,000 per year
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Medical Device manufacturer based in West Yorkshire for a Senior Project Manager to join the business.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for managing New Product Introductions projects for the business to ensure that all objectives of the projects are achieved in a time and costly manor.
The successful Senior Project Manager will report directly to the Program Manager and works closely with the site engineering team and the site quality teams.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Project Manager
- Lead project team(s) to meet objectives of projects that are complex in scope, risk, and span
- Organize and guide project operations including engineering design, subcontracts procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and project closure using inhouse project management methodologies and tools.
- Actively manage the development and preparation of business cases, cost/benefit analysis, and project budgets
- Negotiates schedules, milestones, and resources required to meet project objectives whilst prioritizing project tasks based on capacity, due dates and critical paths
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of all project team members
- Monitor project financial performance to maintain the quality, delivery, and service within the proposed budget
- Develop extensive project management controls for complex projects
- Provide performance feedback to the manager of each project team participant
- Act as the customer’s point of contact and facilitates communication between the customer and the project team to ensure complete customer satisfaction
- Provides feedback and participates in the continuous improvement of the project management process
- Contributes regularly to the organizational learning and drive the groups’ ability to improve
- Supports quality and compliance by complying with all Quality Management Systems
Senior Project Manager Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience in project leadership, including 1-2 years management of complex projects
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Previous experience in Project Management in a related field (1-3 years preferred)
- Perform account management for large projects
Senior Project Manager Skills
- Ability to apply logic and reasoning to solve problems, including identifying strengths/weaknesses, locating alternative solutions, and making high-quality, timely decisions.
- Ability to create detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements using Microsoft Project.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives and respond to shifting priorities.
- Ability to develop strategies for resolving issues related to competing priorities.
- Ability to evaluate linkages and interrelationships when prioritizing work and to develop contingency plans.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/teams across various issues, locations, and time zones.
- Ability to manage Requests for Proposals.
- Ability to interpret technical documents.
- Knowledge of various precious materials and manufacturing methods would be a plus.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- PMP Certification required
The Senior Project Manager will be required to travel overseas from time to time.
