Senior Practice Accountant

Salary: £30,000 – £56,400 per year

Our Client is a thriving Accountancy practice with 2 Offices in Edinburgh. Due to continued growth and development, they are now keen to recruit a Senior Practice Accountant to join their team. You will be based in the office in Corstorphine with occasional visits to the other office in Slateford area.

Reporting to the company owner, this role involves:

• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for a variety of clients including Limited companies, sole traders, partnerships etc.
• Managing and supervising the Accounts team
• Organising, planning and monitoring the workload of the Accountancy team
• Ensuring a high level of client service at all times
• Providing Tax support
• Ad hoc projects including company valuations, re-organisations, acquisitions and sales
• Dealing with HMRC inquiries and investigations
• Reviewing tax return prepared by junior team members
• Ensuring deadlines are met and submissions are accurate
• Dealing with client enquiries by email, phone and face to face

In order to apply, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Fully or part-qualifies technical qualification and at least 5 years’ experience in practice OR qualified by experience (QBE) with at least 7 years’ experience in practice
• A strong knowledge of accounting principles and strong business acumen together with up to date tax knowledge and excellent IT skills
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• An organised and methodical approach to work
• Experience of the following accounting packages would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided: TaxCalc, CCH Xero and Quickbooks online.
