Senior Money & Employment Support Officer / Benefit Advice / Skills Advisor – Social Housing
£35,407.2 per annum + Essential Car User Allowance

Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

One of Shropshire’s largest social landlords is looking to recruit a self-motivated individual to join their Moneywise and Employment Support Team.

In this challenging role you will respond to the needs of customers regarding income maximisation, debt and purchasing advice. Supporting the initiatives, you will help to improve the lives of people on low income, ensuring your team have a good awareness of benefit advice and basic money management and assistance available to support customers into training and work opportunities.

In addition to managing your own caseload, you will take a lead role for the team in understanding the changes to the benefits system, keeping up to date with practice, legislative changes and relevance to tenant and resident needs, preparing reports and recommendations to the Resilient Communities Manager.

The successful candidate will have recent experience within an advice and support environment, have a good understanding of personal financial management, welfare benefits and basic debt advice and have recent experience of advice/support work in the employment and skills arena.

You will also have a successful track record of managing staff, ensuring that quality and productivity goals are always met.
An ability to use a wide range of computer software, and to manipulate and analyse data to produce performance statistics, is essential.
