Salary: £36,000 – £54,000 per year
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Utility Infrastructure Group based in Bristol. The utility market is ever changing and has been at an outstanding pace; as a leading consultancy they have made it a priority to develop specialist utility infrastructure service to new and existing clients.
Within the emerging Utility Infrastructure Group are continuously working on a significant master plan of projects across the country, each one requiring specialist utility infrastructure skillsets to ensure a resilient, cost effective and universal utility infrastructure is delivered. This will require careful forward and strategic planning and the ability to challenge offers is required to secure and deliver necessary infrastructure at the best possible value.
The Role
As a Senior Engineer joining the Utility Infrastructure Group which is rapidly growing, you will play a pivotal role from day one in helping form it by leading the infrastructure of Gas and Water Utilities.
The ideal candidate will serve as a mechanically biased engineer, within a multi service environment where you will be expected to lead projects involving multiple utility infrastructure components and provide a single point of contact to clients. You will have to demonstrate a strong knowledge but also point of view in order to be able to challenge utility operators and asset owners, able to interrogate offers and present a detailed level of understanding of utility infrastructure requirements which can be taken to the market.
You will have great exposure to work on a wide variety of schemes some of high profile and engage with the Team and Clients on often difficult and project critical elements. You will also need to demonstrate a good knowledge of the Water, Gas and Drainage utilities, a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process. Working at the forefront of projects of scale, you will be required to work in London on occasions and will be expected to front meetings, negotiate strategically with the utility operators and present to project teams.
Essential Requirements
– Degree Qualified within (field of study mechanical engineering) or equivalent
– Excellent technical knowledge
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– Demonstrate the ability to negotiate positive outcomes under pressure
– Self-motivated
