Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £42,000 – £51,600 per year

BIM Recruiter are currently working with one of Northern Ireland’s leading M&E design consultancies. Our client operates in the commercial, residential and public sector construction markets in both Ireland and the UK.

Throughout the pandemic, their business has remained stable and has returned to a growth phase recently through a number of major project wins.

To assist in this period of growth, our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team in their Belfast office.

Job Profile:

* This is a client-facing role and will involved leading the design of mechanical building services on a variety of projects.

* Significant experience in delivering mechanical design solutions, working with external design partners and contractors, ensuring design meets regulation, standard whilst meeting project deadlines.

* Responsible for preparing tender documents, reports and costings

* Coordinating junior designers and technicians, mentoring and supporting junior staff in the development of skills and knowledge

* Assessing work on site, installations and commissioning to ensure compliance with design

Candidate Profile:

* Degree Educated Mechanical Engineer or Building Services Engineer

* 8 – 10 years of postgraduate experience

* Chartered or approaching Chartered Status

* Experience within a design consultancy environment

* Strong communication skills and a proven background in building strong relationships with clients and associated project partners such as architects, contractors and equipment suppliers
