Senior Laboratory Technician

Salary: £26,400 – £31,848 per year

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our Materials Testing team in Chesterfield. 

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be happy to follow strict protocols and processes, embrace health and safety, as well as ensure that all data is accurately recorded and completed on time for the client. You’ll have a willingness to learn and focussed on delivering a quick and accurate service to our clients.

Areas of experience that would be preferable include;

• Compaction Testing
• Effective Stress
• Shear box 
• Permeabilities
• Oedometers and Frost Heave. 

Anyone with experience in any of the above could have the opportunity to join a small but ever-expanding Laboratory, which has doubled in size in the past 12 months alone. 

We use dedicated software and automated machines for most of our testing. IT knowledge and knowledge of such as AGS data would also be looked upon favourably.

Responsibilties:

• To produce test results in accordance with the documented procedures, standards and specifications.
• To ensure testing/sampling activities are maintained in compliance with UKAS and Company requirements.
• To ensure that the laboratory working areas are safe, clean and tidy environments in which to work.
• To commit to ensuring the confidentiality of all customer information obtained or created during the performance of laboratory activities, except as required by law.

Duties:

• To work in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
• To carry out allocated work in accordance with documented in-house procedures, in an expeditious manner.
• To integrate into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the laboratory.

Location: Chesterfield

Working Hours: 40 hrs a week

Salary can be negotiable based on previous relevant experience.
