Senior Engineer

Salary: £38,400 – £45,600 per year

Penguin Recruitment is excited to be working alongside a UK leader in the Ground Remediation sector, who are looking for a Senior Engineer.

A suitable degree education or an apprenticeship in a relevant field would be beneficial but not a requirement. Candidates should have attained or be working towards a relevant chartership, SMSTS and CSCS qualifications are highly desirable and experienced knowledge of health and safety issues with the ability to supervise and train is desired. Ideally candidates will have experience supervising and managing a site team and sub-contractors to deliver projects within planned costs and budgets. It would be beneficial for a strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations (Revised). The position is site-based meaning candidates will be required to work anywhere in the UK or Ireland.

The main responsibilities of the job will include:

• Working alongside the Project Manager ensuring high quality project delivery
• Communicating clearly with clients and contractors to enhance the smooth running of the project
• Seek support from Project Manager and Technical Team throughout the project to ensure remediation strategy is implemented, progressed and validated correctly
• Supervise and assist the project team and stand in when possible
• Working alongside the Project Manager to keep project cost within budget
• Liaising the importance of effective IMS Management and conforming to IMS requirements
• Understand project specific risk factors and how these could affect the remediation strategy and costs
• Ensure that the project team has the necessary skills to complete the work and organise necessary additional training where appropriate
