Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

TITLE: SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER / SUPERVISOR

DESCRIPTION: This role is within the Engineering Department of our client and as such will be involved with all facets of the business from sales through to installation. The main focus will be on design, manufacture, test and maintenance of all electrical/electronic aspects of the product.

This is a senior position that requires an experienced engineer, meets the following criteria, seeking to advance within a successful engineering organisation that focuses on exceeding the customer’s requirements within a demanding sector. As such will be part of a growing team with a high profile and the responsibility to achieve results.

PRIMARY DUTIES & TASKS:
This will include but not limited to:
Electrical and electronic aspects of designs and the successful integration with mechanical and gas systems.

Perform calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.

Detailing of designs to producing schematics and test procedures.

Specifying electrical and electronic components such as transformers, motors, heating elements, etc.

Furnishing of BOM’s into a MRP system.

Taking part in Design Reviews to review ideas and schemes from other engineers.
Design studies by means of research & experimentation.

Liaising with Customers/Suppliers/Sales/Installation teams as well as all in-house staff.

Working with suppliers on designs and enhancements.

Electrical/electronic engineering support from Sales through to installation and commissioning.

Testing and fault finding as required –site visits may be necessary.

Training in-house and customers on the product, possibly on-site as required.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Electrical/Electronic schematic design using CAD software – SolidWorks a distinct advantage.
Thorough in depth knowledge and demonstrable experience of electrical/electronic including analogue, digital and high voltage, 3phase.
The ability to work at PCB level and system level, interfacing with customers and all staff.
Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems with vacuum and gas control circuits a distinct advantage.
Use of a range of electronic test equipment including but not limited to oscilloscope, multi-meter test analysers and other diagnosis equipment is essential.
Identifying and using or assembling specific test gear and hardware.
Be able to compile high quality written test instructions and procedures
Must be computer and software literate to include MS Office Word, Excel and Project.
Must have strong diagnostic and problem solving skills together with a concise structured reporting ability.
A good grounding in electrical standards, regulations and quality systems including ISO 9001, IEC, CE, etc.
Knowledge of SEMI S2 or Semi-Conductor Industry experience a distinct advantage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 5+years’ experience is essential, HND with significant relevant experience considered
Proven track record as a competent engineer within design, test and service in electro-
mechanical engineering sector.

PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
A Team player but also able to work with minimal supervision, motivated and a self-starter with a ‘Can do’ attitude.
Position would suit a completer finisher with attention to detail and used to working to tight schedules and deadlines.
Must be willing to be hands-on, as time will be required testing and fault finding on the shop floor, visiting customer sites if required.
Effective communicator at all levels.
