Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per year

Job Description:

Our client needs a senior electrical/ICA (EICA) engineer to join their successful water division (based in either Brighton or Reading). This is a senior appointment for an accomplished EICA engineer with experience in the water, wastewater or related process industries, to work as part of their multidisciplinary team of electrical, civil, mechanical and process engineers.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be to provide a technical lead to the electrical and ICA design of water and wastewater schemes, located both in the UK and overseas.

Typical duties will include:

* Preparation/supervision of preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, and cable, instrument and I/O schedules.
* Production of documentation, including user requirement specifications/control philosophies, tender documentation (including particular electrical and ICA specifications), schedules of prices and engineer’s estimates.
* Attendance of factory and site acceptance tests.
* Providing technical advice and guidance.
* Co-ordinating electrical resources and assisting in the development of the electrical team.
* Providing input to bids and project managing appropriate projects.
* You should be prepared to spend periods working away from base, either in client or other offices or on project sites in the UK or overseas.

Candidate Specification:

* Chartered electrical engineer with relevant electrical and ICA experience.
* Relevant experience in the water, wastewater or related process industries (preferably including working for an engineering consultancy).
* Experienced in design at a “for construction” detail level.
* Able to lead a design team to deliver detailed design schemes within set timescales.
* Experience of project managing MEICA schemes.
* Able to assist and support graduate engineers with their professional development and learning.
* Excellent technical knowledge of your field, able to advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts electrical engineering issues.
* Able to demonstrate a broad experience in LV and HV distribution systems, motor control centres/control panels, electrical installation, SCADA and telemetry systems.
* Able to write and deliver technical specifications, control philosophies and schedules.
* Able to demonstrate use of Amtech or similar software package for carrying out detailed cable calculations.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to integrate into the existing electrical engineering team and work alongside colleagues of other disciplines.
* Strong communication skills.
* Fully computer literate.
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Able to interact positively with senior and junior staff alike, as well as within the client environment.
* Progressive and imaginative in your work, striving to add value where possible for the benefit of the company and our clients.
* Demonstrate continuing professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions.
