Senior Ehv Project Manager

Salary: £72,000 – £84,000 per year

This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a solid technical background and demonstrable experience in taking the lead on mid to large sized EHV or HV contracts and projects.

Our client is an international cable and pipeline installation contractor. One of the leading specialists in the UK, offering in-house technical expertise in the areas of offshore, near shore and land based EHV and HV cable installations utilising a variety of methods. Our client carries out a number of activities including EHV and HV cable routing, installation, jointing and ducting, and trenchless installation techniques such as HDD, laser guided auger drilling and micro-tunnelling. In addition, they offer cable and pipeline burial for onshore and offshore windfarms and marine outfall – landfall construction and renovation.

Due to a significant increase in workload, a continued commitment to overall company growth and a number of recent major project awards, our client is now seeking to strengthen their operational team with the appointment of an experienced Senior EHV Project Manager. You will assist the management in developing the sustainable profitable growth of the business though leading and delivering successful projects, building and maintaining successful teams, and by maintaining championing personal training and development as an example to others.

The Role

* Responsible for ensuring that multiple projects are completed with compliance to the technical requirements of the systems designs throughout the UK and Ireland

* Responsible for ensuring the effective day to day delivery of projects in a safe, timely and profitable manner

* Become embedded within the client’s delivery team

* Establish and develop strong relations with key individuals and decisions makers within the targeted client base

* Build, develop, support and maintain the team

* Work with the team to suggest, explore and deliver new and innovative ways of working that will take cost out and deliver material benefits across all other KPI’s

* Support the Bid Management team by providing operational support as required, which may include providing programme support and written text such as plans, risk assessments etc, as well as chairing and participating in meetings and interviews etc with subcontractors, clients and stakeholders

* Monitor progress with up to date programmes so that timely, clear direction can be given to the team on critical construction and financial targets

* Develop and protect subcontractor relationships

* Contribute to our recognition within the industry

* Responsible for ensuring that all company and site rules relating to health and safety are adhered to

* Responsible for ensuring that all company procedures and policies are implemented and adhered to

The Person

* You will have demonstrated a high degree of competence and success in the delivery of EHV & HV projects safely, on-time, to budget and to the complete satisfaction of the client and the business

* Proven technical and project management abilities

* Strong organisational, management and leadership skills

* Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations

* Knowledge of the ability to work within the constraints of Section 74 and other LA licence requirements

* Detailed knowledge of HSEQ issues relevant to the project environment

* Sufficient experience in order to manage civils construction activities whilst working in carriageway or agricultural environments

* Selection and management of sub-contractors

* A working knowledge of EHV & HV cables and accessories

* A working knowledge of EHV & HV cable systems designs

* Ability to manage the process of carrying out pre-commissioning testing for completed EHV & HV cable systems

* Ability to prepare and manage detailed MS construction programs

* Ability to prepare and submit detailed progress reports both internally and externally
