Senior Commercial Manager, Transmission & Distribution HV Contractor, £65,000 – £75,000

The Company

A successful Contracting business that operate across the High Voltage (HV) maintenance, Utilities, Rail & Smart Metering sectors across the UK. The organisation are has grown significantly and has a turnover of £75M with key relationships with major DNOs. The organisation will increase this turnover and profitability currently exceeding targets for 2014.

The Role

The successful Senior Commercial Manager would be responsible the following (not exclusively)

– Development, management and leadership of the Commercial department including building an in-house Quantity Surveying team.
– Developing Project Management leadership capabilities to manage projects from a Commercial perspective. Including standard practice and process.
– Establishing strong customer relationships and leading the interface with Joint Venture (JV) partners
– Developing project life cycle plans including Risk management, Cost/value assurance, Claims Controlling and dispute resolution.
– Reporting to senior management on a monthly and quarterly basis

The Person

The organisation would ideally look for a

– Degree (or equivalent) Quantity Surveying (QS) / Finance / Law / Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering
– 4-5 Years post graduate experience in a Commercial Management role
– Commercial Management experience within; T&D, Transmission & Distribution, Water, Gas, Infrastructure (Road / Bridges), Generation, Wind Energy.
– Commercial manager who has supervisory experience managing a team of 4 professionals
– Commercially astute with experience of managing and delivering capital projects with budgets upwards of £20m.
