Salary: £36,000 per year
It is imperative that the candidate has knowledge of current Building Regulations, HQI, Lifetime Homes, Code for Sustainable Homes & Construction details. The candidate must also have residential experience – we work for major house builders like Crest Nicholson, Bellway Homes and Barratts – so we are looking for someone with experience on big projects, not small builds.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To produce working drawings for pricing and construction purposes from planning drawings. To produce Planning application package of drawings.
MAIN TASKS
1. Produce working drawings for pricing and construction by hand or on CAD.
2. Obtain NHBC/Local Authority Building Regulation/Planning approval.
3. Ensure Building Regulation conditions are discharged promptly.
4. Liaise with Architects to enable discharge of planning conditions.
5. Implement revisions by hand or on CAD to reflect the current requirements of other departments.
6. Check information supplied to Planning and Design Department accords with relevant working drawings and specifications.
7. Liaise and co ordinates with external consultants to ensure correct information produced.
8. Deal with questions from site arising from work progressing.
9. Ensure client/site is supplied promptly with correct and current drawings.
10. Check that work is carried out in accordance with current drawings.
11. Liaise with Engineers and Landscape Departments etc to enable issue of information for pricing and construction purposes.
12. Attend all relevant meetings prior to construction and all subsequent site meetings.
13. Assist Architectural Technicians in production of technical information by hand or on CAD.
14. Liaise with other members of department to eliminate repetition of on site problems where relevant.
15. Production of conveyance plan for legal purposes.
16. Supervise junior members of department as necessary.
17. Provide technical information for other departments when requested.
18. To ensure that drawings are produced within the required deadline and budget allocated.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Qualification such as a minimum of HNC/HND BTEC level in Building Studies.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Knowledge of planning procedures.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in an Architectural practice.
