I am recruiting for SEND teaching assistants for a long-term, full time temporary position with a view of becoming permanent. Situated in the North of Bradford in a Primary special school Ofsted rated “good”. Children attending the special school are age range between 2-11 years old with a range of special educational needs including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex learning and medical needs, autistic spectrum disorder, communication difficulties, physical difficulties, visual and hearing impairment.
Job description and Spec:
Teaching assistant qualification in early years and primary or equivalent.
Experience supporting EYFS – KS2 in a special school or similar setting.
Knowledge and experience of the complexities of special educational needs.
Must be confident and interested in working in a special care as there may be elements of personal care and feeding care.
Makaton, PECS, BSL, Hoist, manual handling, Peg feed and Team Teach training is a benefit, but not essential.
Passionate and committed in providing quality care and support to pupils in a special school setting.
Flexible and proactive in your approach
Support the class teacher with tasks that are set.
Competitive rates of Salary: £26,000per year.
