My contact at a Client School in Dulwich, London is looking for further Teaching Assistants for this Academic Year. ( Start date – Feb 9th ). She is particularly looking for graduates, strong subject Specialists, who will work with students with specific learning difficulties. English, Maths Science and History in particular. This is a very good London Secondary School that have recruited graduate teaching assistants from Academics over the last few years.

The School is an outstanding London School ( OFSTED 2009 ). It’s in the top 100 school nationally for performance. In the 2013 A levels the school was in the top 25% and also had their best ever results for the GCSEs. There are approximately 1200 students on the school role. The SEN Department is quite small as only 5/6% of the students are statemented. This year the 3 Academics Teaching Assistants represented half of the total number of Teaching Assistants in the Department.

The successful candidates will be working, as Teaching Assistants, within the SEN Department itself and also the Subject Departments. It’s an excellent position for a graduate who will gain experience working with both SEN and also in their chosen subject.

You must be a graduate from the last 5 years, have some experience with young people and be committed to this Teaching Assistant position for at least the next Academic Year.

This school will sometimes put people through a Schools Direct Programme following a good year as a Teaching Assistant. Also my contact has, in the past, referred the Teaching Assistants to other London schools to put them through a Schools Direct programme.

School based interviews will take place on February 5th.
