School Health Care Lead
Job Description
As a Health Care Lead, you will manage the Health Care team and area to ensure it can effectively support and promote the health and medical wellbeing of students and staff and to ensure health related issues are dealt with safely and effectively.
Your main responsibliites will include:
– To embody the Values and Ethos of the school
– To demonstrate a positive commitment to working with students, staff and parents
– Liaise with the SENDCO on priorities for the area and ensure high standards are consistently met.
– Ensure team are trained appropriately and relevant qualifications are kept up to date.
– Manage stock and equipment in the Medical Room
– To support identified students with medical or mobility needs
– To be a first port of call for First Aid and illness that occurs
– To carry out personal care
– To maintain close communication with parents/carers as required
– To comply with the Schools Child Safeguarding Procedures, including regular liaison with the Schools Designated Child Safeguarding Person over any safeguarding issues or concerns
– Keep and maintain up to date and accurate student records and have them ready when required
– Keep a log of completed First Aid Training for all Academy staff including expiry and renewal dates.
In order to be successful for the role, you will:
– Be able to prioritise your workload effectively
– Be able to demonstrate compassion and understanding for student and family situations
– Have good IT and communication skills
