You will join our National Security team to support service delivery, service improvement, proactive management, updates and to provide reactive support in secure environments. The software applications you support will be mission critical and essential to safeguard the countryโs safety.
Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities;ย Maintaining development, reference & live environments
Administering and supporting infrastructure for development and operational deployments
Maintaining & developing CI/CD pipelines
Providing on-site support by owning the ITIL practices to provide stability to mission critical customer applications
Resolving faults/issues and queries raised by the customer
Be โnot just a techieโ, we are looking for you to have excellent communication & and be able to adapt your approach to a wide range of customer situations & stakeholders
Be willing to provide on-call support when required during limited, defined periods if requested by the customer
As a Software Support Engineer you should be used to;Working in on-site support environments
Working in customer environments in a matrix managed team
Managing certificates
You should also be familiar with some of the below;
Linux system administration
Containerization platforms i.e. Docker or Openshift
Software languages i.e. Java or Python
Infrastructure as Code i.e. Ansible or Puppet
Version control i.e. Git
Deployment tools i.e. Jenkins
Jira or Confluencev
