Salary: £480 – £600 per day
Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Risk and Controls Interim Accountant for a leading Financial Services organisation based in the North West. The organisation that we’re representing require support against a control project to ensure the successful delivery of a larger programme. With a strong and evolving brand and high levels of stakeholder engagement in this role, this post is proving to have a major lure to interims seeking their next challenge.
The role
Working across the business, you will be responsible for redefining current workflows, getting involved in data creation, extraction, analysis and design, along with the development of reporting capabilities. Central to the risk assessment process, you will document procedures, evaluate and test controls to ensure that all quality reviews alleviate any weaknesses across the business. It will fall to the role holder to provide an efficient Control Framework that meets regulatory requirements, so relevant training and support with need to be provided to ensure consistency of standards. This will involve analysis of the financial control environment for its effectiveness and communication with the wider functional areas to advise on relevant changes and to challenge where necessary.
The person
The successful applicant will ideally be a Qualified Accountant with strong background in a controls based position, a strong understanding of governance processes, data quality and control testing. Experience within the financial services industry will be crucial to this role, along with previous experience of implementing and enhancing financial controls, overseeing the end to end process from design to application, with the ability to operate effectively in a changing environment. The client requires a self-starter, a confident individual that has a hands on approach, with prior exposure to adopting best practices and utilising data extraction tools and design techniques. Equally, you will need to demonstrate Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
