Position: Senior Part Time Sales Assistant 
Location: Spring Bank West, Unit 1 955 Spring Bank West, Hull, East Yorkshire, HU5 5HD 
Hours: 16 hours per week 
Salary: 21 yrs + £26,00018yrs – 20 Yrs £6.50, 17yrs £5.57, 16yrs £4.86 
Uplift to £26,000 per year when covering Duty Manager duties

ROLE: 
You will provide fast, efficient, pleasant and unrivalled customer service. As a Retail Assistant / Sales Assistant of Heron Foods Ltd, you need to ensure that the store is well stocked, clean and tidy and that customers leave the store with a lasting image. 

This role will at times involve responsibility for opening and closing the store in the absence of a manager. They may have to cover the SM ‘s day off so again at times may be responsible for cashing up, banking, ordering and general running of the store. When taking these additional responsibilities the candidate will receive a supplement of 62p per hour on top of £6.50. The remainder of their shifts would be paid at £26,000 per year i.e. when a manager is present. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
a) Operate the till in accordance with the company instructions and as directed by the manager. 
b) Maintain procedures relating to till drawer control and till float. 
c) Provide highest possible standard of staff and unrivalled customer service. 
d) Ensure that the cabinets and shelves are well filled and faced up at all times. 
e) Ensure correct pricing of products and stock rotation including the removal from sale of any goods exceeding the “use by” date and advise management of any “Best before” issues. 
f) Assist with the maintenance of high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety throughout the store. 
g) Observe company rules at all times and report any breach of company rules witnessed. 
h) Co-operate with colleagues so as to ensure the smooth running of the store. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 
a) Ability to provide excellent customer service, ideally with experience in food retail. 
b) Cash handling skills. 
c) Organised & practically minded, able to roll sleeves up and get stuck in!
