The position is a Network Engineer role, not telco based. The position will be working on firewalls, as well as Cisco. Skills in HP, Cisco and HP Networking would be an advantage.

The right applicant will have at least 5 years firewall and switches experience, with a strong background of working in Data Centres.

Restore Digital has an exciting new opportunity in a growing team for a Network engineer who can work within the infrastructure team. The successful candidate will ideally have solid previous experience in building and managing large multi-site networks across the UK and Ireland.

The position will report to the Head of Infrastructure. Restore is expanding the team, and this Network Engineer role is a new role.

The projected aim is to have 5 x infrastructure engineers reporting to the Head of Infrastructure – growing the team over the next 12-18 months.

The role demands excellent understanding of complex network architecture, firewalls, and WAN technologies, with experience of working within a busy and fast paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishes and maintains network performance.
• Plan, design and manage the infrastructure and technologies within that can support corporate and datacentre environments at an enterprise level for Cisco & HP network devices and firewalls
• Troubleshoots network problems.
• Document existing and new solutions during implementation and manage change within the environment
• Patching and upgrade schedules for all network devices (Load balancers, Switches, Firewalls etc.)
• Collaborates with Infrastructure architects on best practice and design.
• Secure network by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
• Strong documentation skills
• Time management skills essential
• Manage and lead projects to which you have been assigned. Working with the Head of infrastructure and Project managers to ensure their success and professional completion.
• Ensure system performance and SLAs are met
• Provide out of hours support as part of the On call rota
• Some travel occasional travel will be required between offices and datacentres

ABOUT YOU

• CCNP or equivalent level with 3 years’ experience in Cisco technologies, experience in other network vendors is desirable

• Experience of routing, switching and load balancing techniques

Restore Digital support customers on their digital transformation journeys. Born out of a scanning company, we still have four main scanning centres across the UK where we are working on large digitisation projects for the NHS, the Ministry of Defence and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. And usually, we are busy digitising most of the exam papers undertake in the UK every year.
