Research Scientist Dna Analysis

Exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic DNA Analyst to join a close-knit team working within a cutting edge research laboratory.

As a member of the dedicated Research and Development team you will be developing and validating innovative techniques for DNA analysis, alongside optimising existing methods. Primarily hands-on you will work on several projects for forensic applications at any one time. Projects will cover a broad remit, such as STR typing and various molecular biology techniques including Next Generation Sequencing and SNP analysis. You will document and regularly present your research and work closely with the in-house DNA unit to provide high quality technical support and training to staff members.

Ideally you will have a relevant life science degree and a minimum of 12 months’ industry experience in a forensic DNA laboratory. Applications are also invited from accomplished DNA analysts from other application areas, who also possess broad experience in molecular biology techniques and demonstrable research and development skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work well within a small team, are essential.
