We are looking for compassionate and caring Relief Support Workers to join 2 of our servicesย based in Hayle and Connor Downs.ย

As a support worker, you’ll have the chance to engage in activities that you and the 4 ladies with learning disabilities, you’ll be working with all enjoy. Whether it’s going to the theatre, creating stunning works of art, cooking exciting and healthy meals, or taking scenic walks, you’ll always have an opportunity to connect with the people you’ll be supporting.
You’ll provide the emotional support and encouragement they need to develop important life skills, build strong relationships, and achieve their goals.
As a Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourselfย and for the service,ย you may be required to work a varietyย of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, sleep ins and weekends (You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of ยฃ61.20 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual).
The best thing about flexibility is it is a two-way street, while we may require that you work a variety of shifts, we also understand that youโll have your ownย commitmentsย and we will try to factor this into our rotas.

What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected toย provideย an outstanding level of support that willย help to ensureย theย peopleย we supportย liveย a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.ย ย You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality.ย ย Typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting people to live independentlyย โ budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Excellent communication skills and Relationship buildingย โ supporting theย people we supportย to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusionย –ย supporting individuals to access andย participateย in their local community andย social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- Personal careย – helping people to get ready forย the day.ย ย Thisย may include prompting the people we support to take their medication andย assistingย withย bathing,ย showeringย and using theย bathroom.ย ย Notย all Support Worker roles includeย high levelsย of personal care.
