Regional Training Advisor

My client based in Borehamwood are looking for an experienced Training Advisor to join their busy team. You ideally will come from a construction background and be willing to travel to various sites over the London region.

Job Profile –

·Identify and analyse training needs within region
·Plan training provision for the region
·Align regional training plan and training action plan with business plan and objectives
Design and Delivery of Training
·Train and assess trainees and maintain their development
·Assist with the design and delivery of training events, courses, packages
·Maintain a sound understanding of current development and thinking regarding training and learning, and of the key stages of training
·Co-ordinate training initiatives at regional level, as required
·Monitor progress and attendance for further/higher education students
·Assist with facilitation of workshops as required
·Establish and maintain links with other members of the training department to maximise effective service to the company
·Maintain relationships with representatives of external training bodies within the region
·Establish and maintain links with local providers of support for training and development
·Communicate effectively and confidently at a range of personnel levels.
·Ensure all systems/documents are regularly updated
·Produce monthly report as part of management reporting procedure
·Assist with coordination of completion of PDRs
·Provide training sessions and coaching to managers, as required
·Monitor and evaluate quality of PDR process
··Co-ordination of management development programmes
·Provide support at all management levels within the region
·Co-ordinate 360 degree feedback process
·Agree, monitor and report on training costs
·In conjunction with Business Systems Manager liaise with commercial manager and/or regional director over deviations from the annual training plan and spend
·Gain appropriate authorisation for higher education sponsorship
·Authorisation of training related spend through CIM
·Ensure delivery in line with project-specific Training and Employment KPIs
·Maximise PR opportunities and capture initiatives for inclusion in tendering documents / interviews
·Co-ordinate and support Senior Management Team on business improvement initiatives
·Assist in the implementation of practices to develop a learning culture
·Provide advice and support on change management initiatives
·Monitor, record and report on the progress of training and development within the region
Continuous Improvement
·Effectively evaluate the cost/benefit of Learning and Development activities
·Advise senior managers on areas for development at team and regional level
·Feedback to People Development Manager on effectiveness of national initiatives
·Ensure annual intake of apprentices in line with regional and contractual needs
·Take responsibility for Management Trainee recruitment campaigns, ensuring high standard of recruits
·In conjunction with line manager, carry out annual and interim Performance & Development Reviews for apprentices and management trainees
·Monitor and control attendance for apprentices and management trainees
·Identify shortfalls or training requirements that may arise during contracts
Regularly Communicate
·Conduct quarterly trainee reviews against management trainee programme and defined objectives
·Incorporate management trainee and apprentice feedback into improvement of trainee programmes and assigned mentors
·Support staff to enable development in line with their Personal Development Plan
·Encourage progression towards full professional membership, where appropriate
