Our client is a leading public service provider, supporting thousands of people across the UK, to get back into work whose mission is to improve people’s lives. They work in partnership with governments, public sector organisations, private sector companies, voluntary and community groups to deliver a range of front line public services, including employment and welfare, training, education and money and legal advice.
They now have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join them to operate within a geographical area, supporting a number of Regional/Contract Directors, to comply with all legislation requirements in relation to Health, Safety and Environment. This position will cover Wales and the West and be based anywhere in the Region.
Ensuring all managers within the region fully understand their roles and responsibilities in relation to all health, safety and environment, and coaching managers as required, you will carry out scheduled H & S site audits, preparing monitoring reports after each visit and feeding this back to site management. Undertaking regular follow-up visits to monitor progress against the Site Action Plan and reporting findings to Head of HSSE, you will ensure all accident investigations are carried out effectively and in a timely manner and that case/incident reviews are completed and the appropriate controls are implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
With a NEBOSH General Certificate and GCSE English at grade C or above (or equivalent), you will have up to date knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and have experience of developing environmental and sustainability systems. Solution orientated and able to work to tight deadlines, you will have experience of undertaking Health and Safety audits and of producing reports and presenting data, ideally within the construction sector.
Organisational Management/Quality/Auditing related qualifications are desirable, as is membership of IOSH however these are not essential.
