Salary: £26,000 – £28,080Dependent on experience
Length of Contract – 3-6 months
Hours- 30 hours per week
Location- West Yorkshire
Start date – ASAP

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Refuge Worker to join a specialist charity in West Yorkshire which aims at supporting female BME victims of domestic violence and forced marriage.

The successful candidate will be working for a professional organisation specialising in supporting black, Asian and ethnic minority women who are fleeing from domestic abuse.

Please find below a brief synopsis of the role:

*Supporting single women entering the refuge who are fleeing from domestic violence and forced marriage
*Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the refuge and dealing with referrals
*Conducting regular risk assessments and referring to MARAC and signposting where necessary
*Conducting regular 1 to 1 sessions with the client to provide emotional and practical support
*Ensure rooms are maintained to a high standard by working proactively with service users
*Accompanying clients to court and providing them with legal advice
*Facilitating multi-agency working and liaising with local authorities

Essential Requirements:

*At least 3 years paid experience working with victims of domestic violence and forced marriage
*Have a detailed understanding of domestic violence and forced marriage and the impacts it has on BME victims
*Have a strong working knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
*Have solid experience of safeguarding

Due to the nature of this role you must be able to speak a second language and must have access to your own transport.
