Raw Materials Buyer
East Yorkshire
£30,000-£45,000pa plus benefits
Our industry leading client based in East Yorkshire is looking to add a Raw Materials Buyer to their procurement team. This is the opportunity to join a large organisation with a successful team and which will allow the successful candidate to further develop their career.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Manage cross functional projects to deliver all NPD/Resourcing/Sourcing/process improvement projects to appropriate timescales ensuring all projects meet the needs of the trade business.
Operational accountability for product development and introduction within the Category.
Manage the commercial relationship between the client’s Supply Organisation and the International Supply Base.
Develop commercial options for supply – agree requirements, manage tenders and benchmarking exercises, analyse and evaluate results and generate supply options for sign off.
New supplier identification – research, identify and recommend.
New product development / introductions – negotiate commercials and ensure product availability that meets the needs of the trade business.
Understand end to end supply for product category (suppliers demonstrated capacity, raw material availability etc) aswell as understanding the external conditions and influences that may impact future availability and cost.
Manage cost base – continually seek efficiencies whilst maintaining customer requirements for quality and service.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Product development experience in large organisation
Degree qualified
CIPS qualified
Min 3 year purchasing experience in large organisation
Effective communicator
Strong analytical skills
