A successful developer based in Mid Kent that has been established over twenty years that provide regional a “one stop shop” from initial planning and design stage through to completion and handover. Projects are located predominately within the Maidstone and surrounding areas and the company actively encourage training and development form within.

Quantity Surveyor

Now required to join their commercial team and take financial control for developments allocated. As a commercially and contractually aware Quantity Surveyor you will be working alongside the design and technical team on residential projects, liaising with accounts team and to support the companies land buyers in site evaluation. This is a new position, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to bring their skill sets in setting up this role, reporting directly to the directors.

Duties include:

* Carrying out accurate build cost assessments of acquired land; maintain budget control throughout development; and manage cost overruns within tolerance levels.

* Accurate costing and preparation of budgets for each aspect of site development.

* Analysing and reporting on costs and cash flow vs budget

* Undertaking accurate viability/feasibility studies to support decision-making in site acquisition and development.

* Preparing tenders and procure sub-contractors, goods and materials

* Evaluating and agreeing variations and instructions.

* Liaising with site personnel and subcontractors in order to maximise productivity.

* Using a payments system for the payment of sub-contractors and the supply of goods and materials in line with company policy and procedures.

* Promoting and acting in accordance with company values, systems, policies and procedures.

You will:

* Have a minimum of three years quantity surveying experience within a house builder

* Educated to HNC/Degree level – Highly desirable but not essential

* Be commercially and contractually aware

* Have in-depth knowledge of building industry regulations and legislation

* First class communication skills

* Highly motivated and keen to progress

* IT literate

* A stable work history

* Full UK drivers licence
