We are Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, supplying a range of specialist trackwork sections and fabricated metal components into the rail network in the UK and overseas from our manufacturing operations in Nottingham, Sheffield and Edinburgh. As specialists in precision heavy engineering, we are leaders in our field with a growing business.
With our expanding workload, we are now looking to recruit a Quality Inspector, based at our factory in Sheffield. This role would involve working both indoors and outdoors within a small team, carrying out dimensional inspections against engineering drawings, specifications and industry standards, as well as some non-destructive testing on welds and castings, including ultrasonics to PCN level ll. Also, issuing non-conformance reports and monitoring corrective actions.
For this role you are likely to have previous QA experience in an engineering environment, possibly such as metal fabrication, and ideally would already have experience in NDT inspection, preferably with experience of welding or casting. With morning and afternoon shift working and some overtime, you are realistically likely to be earning around £40,000 to £45,000 in total.
