Purchasing and Supplies Technician

A very reputable client based in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire are looking for a Purchasing and Supplies Technician to join their team initially on a 3 month temporary contract starting as soon as possible. There is parking available on site for this role.

The main purpose of this role is to provide support to the Facilities Purchasing and Supplies function through the procurement of goods and services and the smooth running of the stores.

Your main duties will include but not be limited to the following;

* Raising Purchase Order’s for goods and services – ensuring stock does not fall below minimum levels
* Providing the Purchasing and Supplies Coordinator with support such as filing and other administrative tasks to enable an efficient purchasing service
* Cover of the store’s counter between the hours of 8.30-17.00 – receiving and booking in deliveries, booking out stock, regularly counting stock and keeping the area clean and tidy
* Responsibility of the safe storage and transportation of hazardous materials such as compressed gas bottles including nitrogen, oxygen and various refrigerant gasses

Successful applicants for this role should have the following;

* GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
* Knowledge & experience of building trade and ground maintenance stores and / purchasing
* Excellent communication & customer relationship skills including telephone, email and face to face
* Experience of using a variety of computer systems
* Be highly organised and be able to cope with demands of a busy role
