Salary: £14.4 – £16.8 per hour

Purchase Ledger/Payroll Administrator

To support the Finance Lead in the production of monthly accounts with the processing of accounting transactions, ensuring purchase ledger and bank/cash records are maintained accurately and to provide assistance to the Payroll Lead with the preparation of monthly payroll.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities:

* To support the Finance team in all aspects of the Company’s financial management

* Ensure the integrity of the accounting systems, processing transactions and

highlighting any perceived weaknesses in the accounting procedures

* To provide a professional and comprehensive administration support function to the

Finance Team.

* To act with confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Key Accountabilities:

* Prepare/analyse cash receipts for banking, raising cheque and BACS payments on a timely basis.

* Allocate cash receipts to the sales ledger accounts.

* Post direct debits and standing orders to the Company bank account.

* Prepare the monthly bank reconciliation.

* Maintain the purchase ledger, matching purchase invoices to orders, posting invoices to purchase ledger accounts, and reconciling supplier statements.

* Prepare and post accounting journals for petty cash, prepayments, and sundry accounting adjustments.

* Maintain the fixed asset register, assisting the Finance Lead with reconciliation to the accounts.

* Prepare and post the wages journal, making adjustments as necessary to ensure costs are recorded in the correct departments.

* Prepare correspondence and raise payment for PAYE/NI, court orders, etc

* Assist the Payroll Lead with compilation of timesheet hours for wages payments

* Provide assistance with the preparation of ancillary payroll reports (eg long term sickness)

* Support Finance Team members in performing their duties and undertake any other reasonable and relevant duties as set by the Finance Lead, as they may arise from time to time

Person Specification:

Experience and Job Related Knowledge:

* Previous experience of running Purchase Ledger is essential

* Experience of Sage 50 Accounts software is desirable.

Abilities and Aptitudes:

* Approachable and friendly manner with ability to interact with people on all levels.

* Self-motivated, with the ability to take responsibility for a problem and see it through

to resolution

* Intermediate level skills in working with Excel, Word and Outlook IT Packages

* Strong communication skills with excellent telephone manner

* Professional appearance

* Ability to manage own time, prioritising and organising work appropriately

* Excellent Organisational skills and attention to detail

* Ability to be flexible

Education, Training and Qualifications:

* Good general secondary education to GCSE or equivalent is desirable. Must be computer literate with use of most Microsoft Packages. Strong administration skills

* Car owner with full ‘clean’ driving licence
