Rate: £500-550 a day (Deemed Inside IR35 Determination)

Immediate contract for an experienced Proxy Engineer to join a team within a global Bank. You will have worked in large enterprise environments (10,000+ users) previously within Networking & Infrastructure.
Scope
- Network Security Engineer to support the Cybersecurity Engineering & Operations team
- This team is responsible for fielding solutions that defend against a wide range of threats to the business and customers.
The role requires the Engineer with demonstrable experience of working with proxy technology and platforms. It requires an in-depth understanding cybersecurity and cloud networking principals that you will use to design, build and deliver proxy solutions to our Tier 1 investment banking client.
As an SME within this team you will ensure the designs and solutions delivered are of high quality, align with our clients strategies, and follow best practice. You will work as part of an Agile team to achieve set project deliverables, please see a list of requirements and responsibilities below:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, Build, Delivering of high quality technical solutions on proxy platforms
- Providing consultancy to our clients internal customers and peers
- Identify improvements to existing solutions and processes
- QA complex engineering solutions
- Network / security design, installation and troubleshooting
- Policy analysis and creation from one proxy platform vendor to another
- Providing customer support in solving related technical problems
- Working closely with various internal infrastructure and cybersecurity technology teams
- Build strong cross-organizational relationships working with colleagues across the IT organisation and broader enterprise to align with overall organization needs
- Engagement with platform vendor security best practice experts and to operationalise default risk mitigating configurations
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of hands-on network security experience
- Such as network access control, proxy, firewalls, IDS, VPN, and segmentation
- Analysis of requirements, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting
- Previous technical experinence of proxy platforms and architecture
- Strong interpersonal skills – good judgement, assertiveness, high level of communication skills to achieve effective stakeholder management, build consultative relationships, and ability to collaborate directly with a variety of clients (business, development, compliance, etc.)
- Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely, suitable for all levels across the client group. Gravitas and ability to interact with and coach senior executives
- Knowledge and experience of using agile delivery methods and tools to implement both tactical and strategic changes
- Experience of working in an agile infrastructure development team
- 3+ years of experience on virtual network environments, data centre technologies.
- Strong technical knowledge of public key infrastructure (PKI)
- Network & infrastructure experience specific to large size organisations (10,000+ employees)
- Proficient in network architecture and design, network security, and network monitoring
PREFERRED
- Implementation experience for deployment of McAfee DLP, creation of policies & procedures
- Experience in architectural design, engineering and migration of network security tools across the environment
- Experience with packet analysis and flow monitoring tools
- Experience or background with automation using Ansible and / or Python
- Relevant industry recognised certifications
- Degree from an accredited university or college in computer science, information sciences, engineering, information technology, or allied subject (or equivalent industry experience)
